WHAT IS NUTRITION COUNSELING?

Nutrition counseling is an ongoing process in which a health professional works with you to assess your current dietary intake and lifestyle habits that support or negatively impact the balance of your nutrition.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF NUTRITION COUNSELING

In recent years there has been clinical evidence showing a direct connection between food and brain chemistry. Nutrition counseling now plays a major role in disease prevention and health management to help manage chronic illnesses, improve digestion, manage anxiety & depression, conquer eating disorders, increase energy and well-being.

The lack of certain dietary nutrients as well as the excess of certain dietary nutrients is believed to contribute to the before mentioned emotional, mental and physical illnesses. While certain conditions may ultimately require prescription medication, nutrition counseling can aid in ensuring balanced brain chemistry (chemical imbalance prevention) through your nutrition timing, quantity and quality of your intake.

THE NUTRITION PLANNING PROCESS

As part of the Lifestyle Transformation program, you will work closely with Kurt, the Health Coach, to assess your current eating patterns and lifestyle habits to identify areas where change is needed.

Prior to your Total Health Consultation, you will complete a health history and nutrition questionnaire so Kurt can get a thorough understanding of your health challenges and goals.

After the full assessment and after receiving solid, real time information about your total daily expenditure and daily schedule, you will receive a personalized eating plan to include meals, snacks and recipes as needed.

You will be able to easily access your nutrition plan and recipes via the Nutrium app. The app provides secure-anytime communication, notifications at meal times, recommendations & goals, weight progress updates, food diary and water intake tracking as well as appointments and reminders.
