The entire program is counseling! Counseling for nutrition, exercise, career, and life. I will help you to establish habits to effectively change your lifestyle which include your eating habits.

Is the staff made up of a variety of qualified counselors and health professionals such as nutritionists, registered dietitians, doctors, nurses, psychologists, and exercise physiologists?

I am the sole practitioner of Body Refined so rest assured that you will get personable support and not handed off to someone else.

I have the credentials and experience to help just about anyone from the teenager to the senior. I have over 20+ years of experience & study (Bachelors of Science, Master’s, etc.): Health & Wellness Coaching, Human Nutrition & Metabolism, Exercise physiology, Organizational Management and a host of other fields of study & Certifications.

Is training available on how to deal with times you may feel stressed and slip back to old habits?

I will provide you the guidance to avoid, much less, deal with stressful situations. The support I provide affords you access to professional support at any time by way of secure messaging, telephone or video conference.

Are food choices flexible and suitable? Are weight goals set by the client and health professional?

The foods included in the nutrition plans are tailored to fit everyone’s individual preference and in some cases, medical requirements. All while being suitable for the end goal. There are a multitude of dishes, snacks and drinks that are continually added to the recipes database to ensure a wide variety to prevent the monotony that comes with “bro’ dieting (chicken, fish, green beans, potatoes, etc.).

With Body Refined, you are not on a diet, you are just changing the way you eat.

What percentage of people complete the program?

The program is never complete! Let me explain. The problem that EVERYONE faces is that they are chasing weight of which they will never catch and if you do, you will never beat it. Why? Because we never stop the habits that cause the weight in the first place!

And these habits are never easily broken thus constant support needed thru good health but more importantly, in good health.

So, there isn’t a percentage that complete but 100% stick with the Lifestyle Transformation program.

What is the average weight loss among people who complete the program?

To give an average would diminish the bigger accomplishment which is to break the cycle. The cycle of seasonal weight loss, the cycle of chasing weight, year after year.

Everyone has different obstacles to overcome in their lifestyle transformation and in the process, they may lose as little as 30lbs or as much as 150lbs while others will gain so many pounds. All to improve their health.

You see, the lifestyle transformation program is a not a “weight loss” program, per se, but a whole life program to address the habits that prevent good health. In the process you may lose weight if your body is carrying unhealthy weight; you may gain weight if you are underweight; you may not gain or lose weight but lower your cholesterol, your blood pressure, A1C, etc.

What percentage of people have problems or side effects? What are they?

There are no “problems” and the only side effects are good health in the form of lower body fat, improved sleep, improved vitals, increased muscle or bone mass, higher life expectancy, better personal or business relationships, career advancement, and everything positive.

How much does it cost?

The cost is based on the length of the program.

First, it’s always a minimum of six (6) months but can be prepaid for up to 1 year or paid in monthly installments.

The normal rate runs anywhere from $349 to $199 per month + the initial consultation and startup fee. Click HERE for the most recent pricing list.

Oh yeah, it’s even cheaper if you join w/ a friend, spouse or family member in the same household.

And If you participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA), you can use your benefits here!

FSA/HSA cards with a VISA or MasterCard logo can be used as eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses. Specific to Body Refined, the Service Type/Expense would be classified as or like: Weight Loss Counseling, Weight Loss Program, Online or telephone consultation, Nutrition Therapy or Counseling: Including Assessment, Analysis & Consultation.

The above-listed expenses may or may not be eligible per your specific HSA/FSA Administrator (Bank).

Are there fees or costs for additional items, such as dietary supplements?

There are no additional costs outside of the initial consultation and start-up fee. Other than that, there is the cost of the program of which can be paid in one lump sum or monthly.

I do not encourage supplementation outside of what your doctor may prescribe. As part of the Lifestyle Transformation program, I educate you on how our habits and nutritional intake can promote the natural production of the required vitamins and minerals your body needs.

What did you eat to lose weight? Do you eat low carb? Should I cut red meat?

It’s important to understand that this is not a weight loss program. Yes, many clients have lost weight, but they lost weight because they changed their lifestyle to include what they eat.

So, it’s not so much what you eat to lose weight but it’s what you don’t eat to stop your body from gaining bad weight.

The nutrition plans are designed specifically for everyone based on their individual preference and requirements. And that may or may not be low carb, high fat, high protein, pescatarian, vegan, vegetarian, etc.

How often do you exercise and what exercises did you do?

The exercise frequency and regimen are based on each person. Some may not be in the position to exercise, some are but it is specific to each person(s). Exercise programs are designed specific to your current health and capabilities. Additionally, I work with a lot of physical fitness instructor as part of an overall support system.

So, if you have a personal trainer but want that added support and accountability outside of the few times you meet with your trainer, Body Refined is your answer!

Is it difficult to maintain?

Maintaining this lifestyle is not difficult. What is difficult, your friends and family may find it more difficult because they must adjust to your lifestyle. Simply because you are not engaging in the same unhealthy habits as they continue to do.

I have many tools and accountability measures in place to help keep you on the new path of healthy habits. Along with the weekly assurance and monthly review/recap calls with me, it provides an added benefit to ensure the new lifestyle habits are as seamless as can be.

Is it easily incorporated into my schedule?

One of the very first tasks for the both of us, once you become a client, is to review, design and develop a life schedule. The life schedule is the foundation for ensuring you are consistent and persistent in the new habits while incorporating the staples in your life: work, family, school, etc.

How fast will I see results?

If you are looking for a quick fix program, it’s not here or anywhere. Quick fix never truly works because it’s always temporary and it’s never easy or healthy to maintain.

The time frame of results is dependent on your consistency as it is with anything you do in life. Persistently consistent is the mantra here at Body Refined. Persistently consistent in all that I guide, you to do and the level of results will be based on your execution. You put in 100%, you get 100%. You put in 20%, you get 20%.

It takes time to figure out your body and how it reacts to certain techniques. There are a multitude of factors, but the key factor is you. If you’re consistent and honest throughout the program, you’ll see the greatest results in the shortest period. If you are committed to transforming your life, you’ll see the body fat disappear, while revealing the natural tone of your body, and an amazing new lifestyle.

Why does it have to be a 6-month commitment?

Most programs only focus on the physical aspect of getting in shape. I focus on the emotional and mental health aspects of improving your health.

Meeting with your physical fitness instructor for 45 minutes up to 2 hours a couple times a week is the easy part. What about the rest of your day? That’s where we all struggle. That’s where the mental and emotional work takes place.

Knowing that how long it takes to meet your goal is based on your ability to let go of the old habits and engage in the new habits. And engage in the new habits in a way that you don’t even think about it because it has become second nature.

That isn’t going to happen in 2, 3 or 4 months. In that time, you may have established a pattern, but it takes 6 months to form an understanding, an acceptance. An acceptance of the new way of life.
